You Are Here

There are blanks in this blog...no trip diary from my journey came about...no completion of personal intonations explained...living in a quantum soup....so here's the scoop -

An assignment given to a class of psychology students at a well known university - was that they were to keep an ongoing journal and spend the semester eavesdropping on people's conversations - determining what tense the people were talking in - past, present or future, and recording this for a study.

At the end of the semester the class turned in their results, they were compiled and here is what they discovered:

76% of all conversations were in the past
21% in the future
3% in the present.

Now I can only speak for myself - but these seem to be some pretty crazy stats that actually make a lot of sense looking at our collective state of being.

Where and what are we thinking about? Apparently situations we can do nothing about.

We can see from these stats that we spend a great deal of our communications in fantasy - the past. Situations that have been filtered and influenced by our experience and interpretations and stored as chemical and electrical signals. Ok, oversimplified? Modern science has many times demonstrated how easily our perceptions and memories are manipulated.

Science has, for example mapped deja vu as impulses in the brain and determined that it is a remembrance occurring simultaneously to an experience.

In other words - it feels like you are remembering something - because you are in a chemical and electrical state of remembering what you are experiencing as it happens. Crossed wires as it were.

Two people witnessing the same event at the same time will independently describe two different and distinct occurrences.

Just have a look at how history was written as compared to what archeologists are discovering -

we really have to admit - there is no way to know if what we remember is accurate or true.

One thing we do know - the one thing we can lay claim to as a constant in accuracy - is what is going on right now - at this very moment - as you read this word...here.

Only 3% of the time though? I mean sheesh!

This disturbed me - I made a commitment to be mindful of what I converse about. I now make an effort to speak in the present tense - I make an effort to take walks and be aware of as much as possible around me. Scents, temperature on my skin, breeze, sounds and visuals. Even sensing the energy of other beings and practicing connecting with it.

Experiencing everything as it happens - well so far not everything...but being mindful to take in as much as possible - and every time I practice - to expand that a little further.

In that space of "now" is where the magic lives in it's most concentrated form - being now is a beautiful "quantum" exercise - the importance of illusions is redirected to the experience. Dedicating all sensory abilities to feeling and recording experiences - instead of events.

Try this if you want - nature is a great place to start - take a walk and notice everything you possibly can as if you were seeing it for the first time...examine it from aesthetic and functional viewpoints....realize you too come from the same source as this object or being you are examining. take it in completely - use all of your senses - and yes - gut or heart feelings are one of your sense.

When you have completed your walk - take a moment to notice how acute your senses are. Notice how even your skin is alive - your hairs sense movement - you feel presence of other life.

Amazing as it seems right now at this moment of heightened sensory acuteness - to our ancient selves - this was a natural state to be in. Wouldn't that be cool - to always feel so alive and connected! The more I practice this exercise - the longer the acuity stays. It really is something else! Have fun and enjoy your wondrous life filled with breath and sensory delight.

with love,

How To Operate The Universe Machine

Let us talk about Wizardry....not the Harry Potter kind - but the true dance between energy fields.

It is about intention - see the earlier blog post on Schroedinger's Cat.

Something I have recently learned is that the Universe is not a living entity. We treat it as such and regard it as such - but it is not. The truth is - The Universe is a machine. Yup. A mindless machine. It does whatever we ask it to without emotional or compassionate attachment to us as beings.

The Universe just reads our intentions, this is the way we communicate to it in order to manifest energy fields as physical realities. We use our intention and The Universe machine kicks into action and fabricates what we are intending - be it a situation or an object. Now - because this is the process - there are some very important key rules that MUST be followed for a successful and pleasant outcome. You don't really want the alternative. so here are some basics to pay attention to when creating your own reality:

1. Focus on what you want NOT on what you don't want.
The Universe machine does not discern between positive and negative. It only reads intention. So if you are focusing on what you do not want it will generate more of that into your reality.
When you focus, visualize and believe in what you want - it will appear to you.

2. Be Very Clear
The Universe machine LOVES to fill in the blanks. If it does not have enough information but it has a strong intention you will get something that fulfills your intention but is very likely not at all what you wanted. There is the story of a man who was very lonely and wanted a partner, a companion to share his life with. He asked that she be loyal and love him unconditionally. A week or so later he discovered a stray dog (female) at his door. He took her in and she became his closest friend and companion.

3. Make a Contribution
The Universe machine is not going to judge you if you want a whole bunch of stuff for your self, but self-serving aggrandization will cause significant harm over the long term. We all have a mission to fulfill - a purpose to live out - and collecting toys is not it. Ask for things which further you - bring you comfort and challenges - joy and so forth - but keep them in line with your purpose. You will find that as you expand your consciousness you will not really desire lots of toys anyway - they are too distracting.

4. Be Passionate
Hawk Moon - an amazing Lakota teacher I have had the wonderful privilege of being taught by on 2 occasions - has a great story about intention and being passionate when asking The Universe machine. He said:

"I have been to your churches, and watched you pray. I could never figure out what you were asking for when you did pray. You had your hands in front of your faces and mumbled to the floor...now I used to have an office 2 floors above a Macdonalds drive-thru - I did know what you wanted for lunch! - I'll have a Big Mac, supersize fries, a large coke...

If you would just pray the way you order lunch - you would always get what you wanted. It works on the same principle - You make a declaration loudly and clearly - you move forward - you make an offering (pay) then you receive what you asked for. So if you ever get stuck and can't figure out this manifesting thing - just go watch a Macdonald's drive thru for a while - it'll come to you."

So there it is - all of the secrets of the universe in a blog entry. I wonder who will read this...and when they read this and practice it - I wonder who will comment....

All the best!

Scattering Ashes

This is something that came naturally...something that simply had to happen. This summer I had a 3 week space between camp courses I was attending - and no idea what was coming to me.

My mom passed away on March 10 after a long fight with cancer - she was given months and she lasted 3 years. She was proud of that, and I recall her saying to me often - that when it was "her time" she was not going to go willingly. She didn't. She loved life, people, experiences - my mom truly was filled with the spirit of love for everything. It was really quite remarkable.

Her death was as beautiful as it could have been - she took her last breath gazing into my fathers eyes while he cradled her telling her how much he loved her - while I gave her a foot massage and my sister stood at her side. She departed as she had lived - surrounded by love.

I returned home - the grief had not quite set in - the situation at my home continued to escalate its hostility and discomfort. I lived, and had been living in a toxic environment - a home without love....

late one night - on the chat a friend of mine asked me what my summer plans were - she was driving across Canada to the maritimes and wondered if I would join her. The timing was amazing - the dates fell right between the 2 camps I was attending. I asked if I could bring my mom - it entered my heart that I would like to bring her with me - she had never been to the maritimes either and at times we had talked about that.

After ending the chat a divine idea entered my heart - to scatter her ashes from the Pacific Ocean (Tofino) to the Atlantic Ocean (Moncton). Every beautiful place or place of memory involving my mom would receive 3 small handfuls of her scattered to the breezes. I would also be videoing each scattering to assemble a dvd for my dad and sister.

So with the first of my 2 camps ended - my partnership ended - i set off to begin my journey across Canada and back.

The following entries will be made from the road as I find the places to do them.

Thanks for reading - all the best,

Tee

Self Help in Ancient Greece and Rome

Normally I don't publish the writing of others - as I truly love writing my own - in this instance though - This article resonated so deeply I really wanted you to have the opportunity to read it in its entirety.

It expresses many of the traits of the Enlightened Warrior - and also shines a healthy light on self-help, coaching, and its ties to philosophy.

The worst that could happen? Bring it on, says Oliver Burkeman

The ancient Romans and Greeks made no distinction between philosophy, therapy and self-help. "Philosophy's power to blunt the blows of circumstance is beyond belief," observed Seneca the Stoic; the very aim of philosophy, he argued, was "the state of happiness". Today, with philosophers confined to academia, we've come to think of therapy as being for troubled people and self-help for slightly flaky people - as if minimizing sad emotions and maximizing happy ones wasn't the most universal of all challenges. It's hard to imagine what Seneca might have felt about a world in which philosophers don't seek happiness, and those seeking happiness read Deepak Chopra. Or, rather, it isn't: he'd have been stoical about it, one assumes. But you take my point.

I've enthused here before about another Stoic, Epictetus, and his insight that emotions are responses not to reality but to thoughts about reality - a perspective now deeply embedded in approaches both wise (cognitive therapy) and unwise (The Secret). But Seneca's Letters From A Stoic goes further. Essentially, it's a training manual for answering - really answering - one question: What's the worst that could happen? The author Tim Ferriss, a Seneca fan, calls this "negative visualization": responding to anxiety, for example, not by trying to persuade oneself that all will be well, but by fleshing out, in detail, the worst-case scenario.

This works partly because rendering fears specific, rather than nebulous, will always make them more manageable. But it also works simply by drawing attention to the fact that fearful thoughts about the future are just that: thoughts. And it doesn't only apply to fear, but also to the unhappiness that comes from not having what you want. Since it isn't external reality that determines emotions, Seneca might say, you're wrong to imagine that the perfect relationship, job or house would make you happy. What's making you unhappy is the belief that you need them in order to be happy. The way to be happy is to drop that thought.

This can sound like a recipe for withdrawal from the world, and it doesn't help that Seneca did, in fact, spend much of his life in seclusion. If things "out there" don't bring happiness, and if any crappy circumstance can be made tolerable by mental training, why seek love, nurture friendships, strive for achievements, fight injustice or create art? Why not just extinguish your appetite for that stuff instead?

This is how some people interpret Buddhism, too. But extinguishing desires and fears doesn't work - which, presumably, is why a fair proportion of people one meets who proudly declare they've become Buddhists seem so tightly wound.

But that's not what Seneca meant, and not, as far as I can discern, what Buddhists mean, either. Stoicism can be just as easily seen as a way to participate more fully in the world, to plunge in more deeply precisely because one has sapped it of any absolute power to dictate one's emotional state. In Buddhist terms, it's the subtle difference between detachment and non-attachment. "Detachment implies a sense of withdrawal," the meditation teacher Joseph Goldstein says in an interview on the philosophy/spirituality website meaningoflife.tv. (And if you've never visited that fascinating site, please don't, unless you've got nothing pressing to do for the next month or so.) "Non-attachment simply implies not holding on."

Joy and Sorrow

Kahlil Gibran said

"We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them".

All of the great teachings unanimously emphasize that all the peace, wisdom, and joy in the universe are already within us; we don't have to gain, develop, or attain them.

We're like a child standing in a beautiful park with his eyes shut tight. We don't need to imagine trees, flowers, deer, birds, and sky; we merely need to open our eyes and realize what is already here, who we really are -- as soon as we quit pretending we're small or unholy.

Everything we experience in our life we bring to ourselves - each joy and each sorrow in our life comes to us to expand our wisdom and bring us closer to our true nature. Joy and Sorrow are each worthy of our embrace and our gratitude.

Have an amazing and wonderful day!

The Three Most Dangerous Words

Albert Einstein said “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.”

As we grow older in life we tend to grow comfortable with our knowledge and our routines. We begin to glaze over and block out the familiar things that dwell in our environment - our family, friends, pets, house plants....

How many times have you driven home from work to arrive at your door and not even remember driving home? As we grow older we begin to live on auto-pilot in ever increasing amounts of time.

Medical science has recently discovered that our optic nerve shuts down periodically throughout the day leaving us completely blind - for a total of about 45 minutes cumulatively every 24 hours. This happens when the data our eyes are taking in "glitch" out - the brain shuts down the optic nerve for a portion of a second then "reboots" it. We don't notice it as the brain fills in the gaps with data from memory and gets everything back on line within a fraction of a second.

However!!!

It happens enough that we are blind for a total of 45 minutes out of every 24 hours.

We are "tuned out" even more than that in a day. We develop rituals and routines that detract from our awareness - we repeat gestures and phrases without thinking- we have a complete compendium of mindless sayings such as - I'm sorry, excuse me, please, thank you, have a nice day, how are you - all uttered without any semblance of consciousness.

We have perfected the habit of shut down and forgotten how to data mine without google.

Instead of the endless pursuit of knowledge - we have instead developed a magic so dark that it has the capability to destroy our cognitive ability completely.

This dark magic is cast through the utterance of three words in a certain sequence.

So powerful are these three single syllable words that when combined together they have caused thousands and thousands of people to give up on life completely. They are known as "The Three Most Dangerous Words In The English Language".

I urge caution when reading them - and please - I beg of you - never never say them aloud!

Now - If you feel you are ready - here are the three most dangerous words:

I KNOW THAT.

Uttering these words will prevent you from absorbing information, learning anything new, growing, connecting, communicating and so on and so on - their destructive power is almost limitless.

There is an antidote however. Following Newtonian physics - every action has an equal and opposite reaction - there is a simple way that we can reclaim our right to curiosity. Reclaim our birthright to knowledge and understanding!!

It is called - Wonder.

It takes some practice to remind ourselves how it works - so I have added an exercise below that I do whenever I feel like the walls of my skull have grown thick with moss -

You need to use objects that are familiar to you- and interact with people that are unfamiliar to you.

1. Pick up an object, concept that is very familiar to you.
2. Approach someone you don't know or hardly know and ask them what they think about it.
Be sure to explain to them you really have no idea how it works - or functions etc...
3. Have them explain to you in detail what they think it is and how it works. Encourage them to
"help" you understand it. Pay close attention to everything they say - be sure to shut out all
previous knowledge.
4. When they have finished "helping" you - thank them for enlightening you and re-examine the
object on your own with this new found knowledge.

It is interesting what happens when something familiar to us receives someone else' unbiased perspective. I always discover many things I never realized even existed or were possible. It is no longer the same object or concept at all - but it is completely renewed!

This is great training for reclaiming our sense of wonder! Learning new things about the familiar - seeing them as unfamiliar again. Rediscovering everything and everyone! So go on! Mine some data and have a really amazing day!

Collapsing Waves In The Field - or The Great Egg Hunt

In the previous entry we may have discussed intention as a determination of manifested objects in the physical universe. I say "may have" because you will likely substitute your own reality in here and I have absolutely no control over that.

One of my favorite sayings of my youth was - "I reject your reality and substitute my own". I thought it was punk - turns out it was quantum.

So here is an interesting addition to all of this supposition - The Law of Cause and Effect is incorrect in the Quantum Universe. It is a Law of Illusion.

The actual law is the Law of Effect and Cause. Here is the gist -

In order for a manifestation to occur from the zero point field - there has to be an intention focused to create a pattern. That pattern is then charged with energy and it pops into the physical universe as a manifested object.

It is not an effect though - it manifests as a Cause to support an effect that already exists. The effect is the focused intention.

For example - let's take money - it's a good subject as everybody wants money - there are millions upon millions of books, cd's seminars and more on the subject of how to make - get - create more money. Almost everyone has seen the Secret - and it charged a frenzy of trainers and seminars and books - everyone wants to wave their hand and have their bank account magically fill.

So - money in this instance is a good example. The way to manifest lots of money into your life - is to follow the rules laid out in the previous blog entry -

1. Belief
2. Judgment
3. Consequences

That's it. Simple.

First you MUST believe you ARE Rich. Not going to be, or almost am... believe that you ARE rich and that you have LOTS of MONEY.

Now that you believe it - make a judgment about yourself. What are you now that you are rich? Install that as a deep seated feeling inside yourself. It is essential that you believe all of this as a truth.

Now that you believe you are rich, and that you are a different person because you are rich - face the consequences of being rich. Notice what you can and cannot do now that you are rich. Be realistic about this - you are behaving in this as a truth.

Now that you are modifying your identity and behaviour to accommodate your new belief - that you are rich - you have set a pattern in the zero point field and begun to charge it with energy.
This pattern will now pop into the physical universe in a manifested material way so as to support your belief system in its entirety.

The trick is - to get rid of all of the patterns that already exist - that you created - that tell you you are NOT rich - first. Yes we all have many patterns in our universe we set telling us how powerless we are.

So before we jump ahead into the "get rich quick" scheme - we must do some serious - and fun - work first. The work is to collapse the wave forms and reclaim our energy from the existing patterns we have set that limit us.

Once we collapse the patterns that limit us - we have access to unlimited power and manifesting abilities.

There is a process for this - that is actually very simple - and is explained in the book I mentioned in the previous blog entry as well. we can go over the process in another entry. Until then - burn your copy of the secret and instead manifest a copy of "Busting Loose From The Money Game" by Robert Scheinfeld.

Or...wait for a seminar to drop into your universe sometime next year.

All the best!
